At the Sunday July 13th, 2025 Holy Communion Service sermon with theme: ‘Walking in Christ’s footsteps’, Ven Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu encouraged Christians to be Christ-like in practical lifestyles rather than in words.
Ven Dr Egwuonwu literally begged Christians particularly privileged ones and those in authority to exemplify humility in all they do including leadership, service to humanity and generosity.
He pointed out that demonstration of noble character is better than prayers, since according to him, humility leaves a lasting legacy on others.
He warned that Christians should shun divisiveness and demonic mentality by following Jesus Christ’s footsteps. He encouraged Christians also to stop being judgmental as it appears as marketing of one’s pride and ignorance before others.
He described Jesus Christ as the perfect being hence every Christian strives to be like Him.
