Former Emir of Kano, Mohammadu Sanusi has explained why he was sacked from his position as Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor and Emir of Kano.

Sanusi explained that his attitude of speaking the truth to those in power cost him his position.

The former CBN governor disclosed this while speaking at the closing ceremony of the AIG Public Leadership Programme Class of 2021, in Abuja, yesterday.

According to Sanusi, he has “always stood to speak the truth to those in power, reason I was removed as CBN governor and Emir of Kano, but that did not stop me from doing what I see as the right thing.”
