”We Are No Longer Safe” — Asaba Gadget Traders Demand Urgent Action After Serial Robberies

Owners of Gadgets shops in Asaba are currently holding a peaceful protest in front of the government house over the constant robberies of their shops by armed men.

This protest was held today after reports of a robbery that took place on Saturday. a gadget shop owner went viral after he made a video of when he went to the police headquarters in Asaba to protest alone. He said his gadget shop was robbed for the third time in just two years and the current one happened in board daylight by 10 am, when armed men who pretended to be customers entered his shop and left with 3 Ghana must go bags of iPhones and other gadgets.

The shop owner said he had reported the case to police officers but nothing has been done about the previous robberies.

Other gadget shop owners in Asaba also shared similar stories. They said there has been a lot of shop robberies in the past few months and these robberies were mostly targeted at phone and gadget shops in Asaba.

The shop owners pleaded with the governor of Delta state and relevant authorities to come to their aid and help them stop the issue before it gets out of hand.
