VAR: Christensen Was Able To Play, Despite Red Card Against Liverpool.

Christensen who was initially given a yellow card fouled Sadio Mané in what many called a classic Rugby tackle.

After a VAR review, he was showed the red card at the extra minutes of the first half. Christensen was still allowed to feature yesterday’s game and I will tell you why. According to the Premier League new rule, red cards are now non competition specific.

This means that if doesn’t matter the competition in which you obtain the red card, you are automatically suspended for your team’s next fixture. So when Christensen was showed the red card in the fame against Liverpool, instead of being suspended for yesterday’s game, he served his suspension in the fame against Barnsley last wednesday.

This new rule also affected Kovacic who was shown a double yellow card in Chelsea’s FA Cup Final against Arsenal. This was the reason the Croatian was suspended in Chelsea’s first game against Brighton.

West Brom third came from a corner and mediocre defending with the ball landing on a totally unmarked Barsley who slotted it easily past a confused Cabellero.
