UNIZIK STUDENTS RECOUNT FRUSTRATIONS WITH SOCIOLOGY EXAM

UNIZIK students who are offering SOC 101 (Sociology) have expressed their disapproval with counter based test which left them worn out frustrated at the end of the exam.

Some Mass Communication students who recounted their experiences were not happy that the exam which was supposed to begin by 2pm was postponed to 3pm.

One of them, Joshua, who had been at the venue (Digital Library since 12pm recalled the bitter encounter.

“It wasn’t fair. After waiting and studying till 3pm, they suprisingly postponed it to 5pm. Lots of students were annoyed at this sudden change as they were tired of waiting under the hot sun. Some of us left to come back later by 4:45pm

“After waiting patiently till 5:00pm, all students studying sociology rushed to the front of digital library to complain and enter for the exam. But, those attending to them refused to let them in. We were still waiting when rain started. So many student had lost patience so they decided to force there way in”.

That attempt, according to the accounts of the students, provoked the man in charge who decided to use cane on them.

“The man started flogging those in front to move back. I got a bruise on my arms and lost my earing when that man was flogging people,” another student, Chizzyben said regrettably.

“Some students were rough handle and some fell due to the struggle by students to go in for the exam”.

He explained that “those who were able to force their way in were told to get their JAMB registration number, which was a problem”.

Joshua said that he couldn’t remember his registration number so he had to leave the hall, get his phone luckily and later proceeded to write his exam.

However some other students were not lucky to get their JAMB registration numbers on time while many had problem with their registration numbers.

“We were not given much time as only 20 minutes was granted as the population of students was furious,” another student lamented.

As at 8:45pm lots of students were still present at Digital library trying to sought out their problem. All the same the fault is not fully on the attendants as the population of student was so great,” he she remarked.

The students pleaded with the school management to address the problem to prevent a repeat during the General Study (GS) exam.
