UNIZIK DVC, Bags PhD At UNN 51st Convocation Ceremony

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ikechebelu, has bagged his Doctorate Degree (PhD) from one of Nigeria’s foremost and prestigious institution, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

Prof. Ikechebelu was awarded the higher degree and highest qualification in academic field on the occasion on the 51st Convocation Ceremony of the University of Nigeria Nsukka held on Saturday, 25th November 2023 at the Margaret Ekpo Convocation Arena in the week long convocation ceremony of the institution holding from Tuesday, 21st to Sunday, 26th November 2023.

In his address during the convocation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of UNN, Prof. Charles Arizechukwu Igwe, FAS, stated that a total of 1,548 Postgraduate degrees and Diplomas of the University will be conferred on deserving graduands. A total of 519 persons of which Prof. Ikechebelu is one of them was conferred with the Doctorate degree, 934 persons earned the Masters’ degree and 95 persons with Postgraduate diploma.

The Chief Executive of the UNN also informed that 11,494 persons were on thursday awarded with a Bachelor’s degree of the institution.

The scholar reminded the graduands that graduation does not imply the end of their relationship with UNN but an elevation to a higher level of the relationship between proud alumni and their alma mater.

Prof. Ikechebelu’s Doctorate degree (PhD) is in the field of Human Reproduction and Women Health, Institute of Maternal and Child Health (IMCH) of the UNN.

The scholar who is usually referred to as the Doctor’s Doctor had hitherto bagged a Doctorate Degree in Gynecological Endoscopy from the National Postgraduate Medical College Lagos making it a double PhD in the field of medicine.

Prof. Ikechebelu also represented UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, on the occasion of the 51st convocation ceremony of the institution.
