Unemployment: Unizik Business School Signs MoU with ADSI Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, through its Business School (UBS), has inked a memorandum of understanding with the leadership of Advanced Development Solutions Initiative (ADSI) Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited to provide training for graduates and unemployed youths in Anambra State and beyond.

The MoU signing, in collaboration with African Missionary Empowerment Network, occurred on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Dr. Ogochukwu Soludo, the founder and president of ADSI Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, emphasized that the partnership aims to equip youths with essential survival skills, crucial for societal transformation. He lamented the tendency of many youths to waste time seeking non-existent jobs and stressed the importance of empowering them for self-reliance. He identified UBS as a critical ally in achieving this vision.

Welcoming the partners on behalf of the university management, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, FAS, expressed confidence in the initiative’s potential to yield positive results. He hoped for its expansion beyond the university, emphasizing the empowerment of youths through education and training. He commended the initiators and assured of the university’s full support for the MoU’s implementation.

Prof. Chinedu Onyeizugbe, Director of UBS, represented by the Deputy I, Dr. Promise Oparah, expressed gratitude to the partners for selecting UBS and pledged the school’s commitment to fulfilling the terms of the MoU. Prof. Meshach Umenweke, the Chief Legal Officer of the University, anticipated job creation for beneficiaries through the partnership, extending appreciation to the partners for choosing the university.

Dr. Chris Kalu, UBS Deputy Director II, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential for fruitful and rewarding outcomes, praising the vice-chancellor’s leadership.

Among the partners’ entourage were Mrs. Onyinyeoma Soludo, Dr. Donald Orabuche, Dr. Ogochukwu Soludo, Dr. Nma Okoroji, Tina Okonkwo, Comrade Leo Imoka, Chigozie Nwobu and Lady Amaka Okeke, while Dr. Kalu Peters, Dr. Dorothy Chidolue, Ogochukwu Nduka, Onyedikachi Azodo, Ndubuisi Anikpe, and Samuel Chukwubuikem, accompanied the Unizik Business School team.
