UNDP Representative Visits Chief of Army Staff

….Commends Army on Stablization process in North East.
The Resident Representative, United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Yahay has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai in his office at Army Headquarters, Abuja yesterday.

Mr Yahya who was accompanied on the visit by some senior officers of the organization commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their support to UNDP in the stablization process in the North East of Nigeria adding that the Army under Lt Gen TY Buratai leadership has done well.

“Your support to the UNDP stablization process in the North Eastern Nigerian is quite commendable”, he said.

The COAS in his remark thanked the UNDP for their humanitarian actions in the North East. He urged the UNDP team to ensure that the cultural sensibilities of the people in their areas of operations is always considered and that standards of work should not be compromised.

He commended the various interventions, stabilization and humanitarian efforts of the UNDP which in a way also support the military campaign in the North East and assured them of the support of the NA to partner with the organization to continue to successfully carry out their duties in the North East Nigeria.
