Umunze PG, John Akanyeonu Vows to Promote Development of Community

The newly elected President -General of Umunze community in Orumba south local government area, Anambra State, Hon John Akanyeonu has promised that his administration will work to promote development of Umunze community.

Akanyeonu said this at his official swearing in alongside other elected executive members of Umunze Progressive Union ( UPU ) on Monday at Eke Izo, the ancestral home of Umunze.

While appreciating the people of the community for founding him worthy to pilot the affairs of Umunze community, Hon Akanyeonu, the President General Elect Umunze Progressive Union thanked them for their maximum support during and after the election. He promised to work with all and discharge his duties without fear or favour to sustain the glory and beauty of Umunze community

He also assured that his administration will work with all the leadership Structures in Umunze to enhance and promote development of the community.

Hon Akanyeonu further promised to set up constitutional review committee from February to work on the constitution of the town to make an amendment were necessary. He even promised a good working condition and relationship among the Abilikete in Council and all other leadership components in the community.

Earlier, While taking them into an oath of office, the electoral committe chairman, Hon Prince Chukwudi Ugochukwu, congratulated them for a victory well deserved and urged them to remain committed and punctual in all their dealings.

He further charged them to keep proper account of all their activities even as he urged them to recognize transparency in their administration in other to move Umunze community forward.

“Umunze Progressive Union has been entrusted into you all , and all was done under the trust of the entire good people of Umunze, do not disappoint those trust,” he concluded.

In the Same Vain , Chief Benjamin Maduagwu expressed gratitude to the people of Umunze and the Abilikete in Council for their maximum support and corporation during and after the election. He urged all the elected Executive Members led by Hon John Akanyeonu to make good use of their offices to bring a lasting peace cum mutual understanding among Umunze populace.

Furthermore, Igwe Abilikete of Umunze, Igwe P.N Eze commended the members of the electoral committee led by Hon Prince Chukwudi Ugochukwu for their relentless efforts in seeing that the election was conducted in a free, fair and objective manners without any violence.

He further charged the newly elected executive members of UPU to ensure proper accountability, transparency and place God first while discharging their duties adding that they must make judicious use of their offices to sustain peace and Progress of Umunze.

Orient Daily reports that the newly elected executive members of Umunze Progressive Union led by Hon John Akanyeonu, the President General Elect was sworn -in into their various offices and oath of office taken by all the elected executive members at the ancestral home of Umunze ( Eke Izo ) before the presence of the electoral committe, the Abilikete in Council and the people of Umunze.

Orient Daily further reports that the newly elected Executive Members of UPU include: Hon John Akanyeonu (President General), Mr Ikechukwu Ejioffor (Vice President 1), Ekene Okoli (VP 2), Comr Hypolit Oluah (Secretary General), and Reymond Ochuaka who will take over as Treasurer.

Others: Obinna Ukaeze (Publicity Sec.), Anebo Ejike (Financial Sec.), Barr . Udensi Lanius (Legal Adviser), Aniebo Umunnakwe (Walfare / social dircommunity and Ezulike Chinanu (Provost 1).

However, Nna Sunday, Uzo Augustine, and Promise Ezewuzie were elected Provost 2, Assistant Secretary 1 and Assistant Secretary 2 respectively.
