Uke : Community of Nasarawa where no government facility exist.

Brinin Gbagyi-Bus stop, in Uke district of karshi development area,Karu local government of Nasarawa state is lacking so many social aminities and government interventions.
The community which is hosting over 10 ethnics groups from across states of the federation,can not boast of graded roads,health care facility,school and even a polling unit .
Findings revealed that the community which has over 3000 population is predominantly of the Gbagyi ethnic ,who had settle in the area spanning 40 decades ago.
Apart from individual and the community efforts, the road leading to the area,there was never a time the government made effort since the returned of democracy in 1999, to cushion the effect of hardship suffered by the people in Brinin Gbagyi.
Speaking on behalf of the residents,the chairman of the community,Mr Audu Atamah Adel ,said they have never benefited from any government provision,be it from the local government or the state.
According to him, the community which has a huge number of people still don’t have a polling unit, school,a primary health clinic and portable drinking water.
” We have given up hope on anything from the government,this is because it is only during political era that one or two politicians visits our area and after their election,they don’t keep to their promises.
” If we must access any facility of the government,then we have to either go to keffi or Karu ,so you can imagine if it were emergency cases,such as pregnancy and the rest, some times before reaching the hospital,the patient would have suffered much pains if not died ‘ He said.
However and in a separate development, a private firm ,called Maigida foundation,based in Keffi has shouldered the responsibility of patching some potholes on the streets of Keffi local government area.
It was gathered that the foundation which has been engaging in several humanitarian gesture ,as empowerment,contributing towards educational development ,has also sponsored some students to various tertiary institutions.
The road rehabilitation work , according to some residents of Keffi,is the first from an individual who is not holding any elective position or seeking for election in the area.
Alhaji Saleh, prominently known as Saleh Maijerida, in Keffi,told our correspondent on Monday that Maigida foundation is the best thing that has happened to people of Keffi” The management of the foundation are not selective, unbiased and very compassionate in their gesture,we have never witness the kind of magnanimity from among our politicains” Saleh added.
