UDUF Holds Business Summit For Young CEOs In Onitsha

The Ultimate Destiny Up-lifters Foundation, UDUF, has organized a one-day business summit for under forty-five Chief Executive Officers, CEOs, in Onitsha with the theme: Business Repositioning for A New Global Economy.

The business summit which the Director General of Onitsha Business School, Professor Olusegun Sogbesan was the keynote speaker, drew young entrepreneurs and personalities including the Anambra State Coordinator, Standard’s Organization of Nigeria, SON, Engineer Onipede Adeoye, among others.

In a welcome address, the founding president of Ultimate Destiny Up-lifters Foundation, Dr. Chinedu Ezuma said the under forty-five CEOs business summit was an initiative of the foundation aimed at engaging and empowering individuals and families to achieve career goals, hence the coming together of business leaders, government and financial agencies, young business owners, entrepreneurship students and unemployed youths to explore the challenges faced by today young entrepreneurs and identify practical approaches to addressing their needs.

Dr. Ezuma noted that the advent of COVID-19 adversely affected businesses and hoped that the summit would put them on the right track.

Speaking on the theme of the summit, Professor Sogbesan said the ability to turn first customer to a loyalist or ambassador is the key to business sustainability, adding that global economy is knowledge driven, which is the need for people to acquire knowledge and advised business owners to change their old pattern of doing things.

During the summit, the Anambra State Deputy Director, NAFDAC, Mrs Michael represented by Mrs Lilian Nwokolo, Mr. Tochukwu Akunna from MIRSAL Microfinance Bank, Onitsha and Engineer Onopede Adeoye discussed how government agencies have assisted business owners to reposition their businesses.

Staff reporter Oggorchukwu Oranu reports that young successful business owners who started their businesses from scratch and have made remarkable success also shared their experiences during the event.
