Two Injured, Others Escape Death In Anambra Road Accident

A total of six persons have escaped death in a road crash that took place near Oil Mill Oraifite, along the Onitsha -Owerri road.

FRSC report claimed that two persons sustained varying degrees of injury following the crash while four others were unhurt.

At about 0830hrs today Thursday 3rd September, 2020 a serious Road Traffic Crash (RTC) involving a yellow 911 M/benze with registration XB 133 AJL and an Ash matrix jeep with registration number AQ 445 FGG, was recorded near Oil mill at Oraifite along Onitsha-Owerri road.

According to an eyewitnesses, the crash occurred as a result of loss of control due to excessive speeding.

The report also informed that the injured were rushed to Evans hospital Ozubulu, by good Samaritans before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Oraifite Unit Command, who are on ground to ensure free flow of traffic while the Obstruction is being cleared. No life was lost.

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi while wishing the injured victims quick recovery warned motorists against over speeding.

He said that over speeding is very dangerous and drivers must adhere to 100km which is the maximum speed limit allowed by law on the express way for cars, buses 90 km, Trucks/ articulated vehicles 60km etc,as road traffic crashes are avoidable.
