The management of Rangers International FC of Enugu has extended its players and coaches resumption of training for the forthcoming season by seven days.

The club Media Officer, Norbert Okolie in a statement in Enugu on Friday, said the players and coaches were now expected to resume training by Sept. 4.

Okolie said the Administrative Secretary of the club Ferdinand Ugwuarua, made the clarification after a marathon of meetings with technical officials and management.

Ugwuarua stated that the extension became necessary because the 2021/2022 football season was not concluded as the Aiteo cup was not finalised.

He noted that teams were still in the open transfer market, seeking for prospective quality talents to beef up their squads.

“Management thought it wise to extend the resumption date for our returning players and coaches who have been on holiday since the end of our activities on the pitch.

“So, we are extending the holiday by a week and expect the retained players and the new ones we have contacted to hit Enugu by Sept. 4.

“It is our belief that the coaches will hit the ground running from that date to build a team that will challenge on all fronts in the coming football season,” Ugwuarua said.(NAN)
