Tinubu Meets China’s Foreign Affairs Minister at Aso Rock
President Bola Tinubu welcomed Wang Yi, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday. Wang Yi’s two-day working visit to Nigeria includes discussions on the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit in China. Key topics for discussion include economic collaboration, political relations, and developments in the oil and gas sector. Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Wang Yi are expected to provide a joint press briefing after the meeting. Among those present were Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed; and Ambassador Tuggar, alongside other officials.
