There Is No Alternative To Biblical Christianity – Bishop Ikeakor

Christians all over the world have been told that there is no alternative to Biblical Christianity.

This call was made by His Lordship, The Rt. Rev’d. Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor while declaring open the third session of the fourth synod of the Anglican Diocese of Amichi.

Bishop Ikeakor while addressing the crowd shortly after inspecting the guard of honour by Amichi battalion Council of the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade at the synod venue, Ebenezer Church, Unubi said that there is enormous pressure on Christians all over the world now to abandon the true faith of the church.

Reflecting on the theme of the synod this year, “Do not be conformed to this world…” Bishop Ikeakor said that:

“The time to stand up for God and lift up the banner of our Lord Jesus Christ without compromise, without conformity, without lowering the standard of Christianity is now. The world is choking the sound Christian faith. The world is putting pressure on Christianity to lower the standard. We have come to encourage ourselves through bible teaching, Bible study, discussion groups, interactive sessions, plenary sessions etc that there is no alternative to Biblical Christianity.”

“Holiness of life remains the Bible standard; righteousness in the office, in the family in the school, in the church and in the market place, that is the demand of God.”

He called on all Christians to live their lives in such a way that at the end of their lives they shall be accepted in God’s kingdom.

Bishop Ikeakor expressed deep gratitude to the members of the Amichi battalion Council of the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade for the great sacrifices they have made to prepare for the synod and lead his entourage to the venue.

While commending Unubi Anglican Communion for making themselves available to be used by God in organizing the third session of the fourth synod of the Diocese, he called on all not to relent in their efforts to make Christ known and expand the kingdom of God here on earth.

In his sermon at the opening service, Rev’d. Canon ThankGod Agu speaking on the topic “be not conformed to this world: Enoch and Noah examples” said that conformity means going in the direction of the majority. Canon Agu challenged the synod to embrace the examples of Enoch and Noah who realized there has been a missing link in the mode of life of his ancestors.

“According to him, these Bible characters were the only ones mentioned in their time to have walked with God. At a time the earth was corrupt and filled with violence, Enoch and Noah distinguished themselves as men who were godly walking with God.”
