The Fate Of The APGA Under Soludo ……….And The Rampaging Obiano Boys
In recent times, we have been kept busy in the media with reports from the new leader of opposition politics in Anambra led by Chief Paul Chukwuma, after the untimely demise of Ebubechukwu uzo Nnewi.
We have read with dismay the institutionalization of rascality in APC Anambra ahead of the 2025 gubernatorial shindig.
We have been fed with gibberish that the people who will wrestle power from Gov Soludo are the former appointees of the immediate past governor Chief Willie Obiano.
These former political appointees were thorough bred APGA chieftains who fed fat on the party’s largesse, established multi- million naira businesses in Awka, Enugu, Abuja, Lagos and other hidden places. Under APGA led government, they acquired landed properties all over the capital city and neighbouring communites. Yeah, it’s no longer news that the unannounced disconnect, and irrelevance they suffered in the present regime had provoked anti party activities, and subsequent cross carpeting to APC and other pllitical parties where they now hold sway.
These former political appointees under Akpokuedike Aguleri benevolence, saw a paradigm shift in the manner and way the new APGA leadership judiciously handle the state resources, uncomfortable with the development, they deserted the party that made them billionaires, and desperately walked into APC in search of milk and honey. These former Obiano boys, now christined “APC War Machines” have one thing in common “desperation”.
Yes, they are desperate to return to Agu Awka, the seat of power. They are desperate to reconnect their conduit pipe to state treasury. They are desperate to get back to a weird, ostentatious lifestyle sponsored with state funds. Ordinarily, these reports about there gang up against APGA, and serial tirades against the party that made them what they are today wouldn’t have received my attention, but when I flashed back and remembered the chequered history I had with them when they defended APGA as if it was there life, I chuckled. Na so life be?
Today, the former Obiano boys are the ones demarketing Prof Soludo’s administration. They are the ones leading the onslaught against APGA. They are the ones sponsoring destructive propaganda against the state government. They are the ones crying wolves, they are the leaders of opposition politics in the state. Well, I wouldn’t be sounding like a cracked record to admit that there is freedom of association in political party politics, but biting the fingers that fed you is a gross act of ingratitude, and cheer wickedness.
Now my 10kobo advise; these former Obiano boys, known as the new APC “War Machines” will do well to concentrate on promoting Chief Paul Chukwuma their guber aspirant, devoid of mudslinging, and choreograph protests against APGA. The renewed effort to murder APGA in Anambra state is not what a discerning Anambra man or woman should applaud.
For APGA is our bargaining platform in this contraption called Nigeria.
The leaders of opposition politics in South West teamed up with some political dissidents in North East and birthed APC, today they’re calling shots from the presidency. Why is it difficult for South East to deploy APGA, partner with others in the North West/Central to achieve political goals?. Why is it that our politicians are only interested in using APGA to satisfy their selfish desires, use the party like tissue paper, dump it and run away? Why are we not patient enough to grow this party to become an irresistible political instrument of negotiation at the center?
Why is it that some people who got to limelight using APGA, abandon the party to its fate. Once your selfish interests are not welcomed in APGA, you will resort to attacking the party that was the air you breathed. You will start frolicking with other political parties, casting aspersions on APGA leadership, and initiating moves on how to destroy the ladder that got you up there, why? Ogini bu ife nkea?
Now hear this, anyone who have benefited from APGA and now ganging up to destroy it, should go on his or her knees and ask God for forgiveness. Say “God, even though I have moved on after marathon political intercourse with APGA, and now the party is my Ex, please forgive me for wanting my Ex dead”. It’s a spiritual exercise you must observe, if not the spirit of APGA will not let you rest.
Well, the Local Government elections are fast approaching and APGA is set to play grassroots poltics once again. It is expected that the opposition elements in the state will do everything within their power to discredit the exercise, but Anambra people are resilent, above all excited that LG elections are going to hold after several years of not witnessing real politics at LGA level. The buzz is everywhere, the LG election is like a cultural festival, the frenzy associated with the exercise is intoxicating. We see candidates for the polls running road shows with masquerades, marketing their manifestos to the electorate.
Today, I hear that there will be APGA mega rally in Awka, that’s beautiful. The last APGA mega rally was witnessed in 2021 before the guber election that ushered in Prof Soludo. The spirit of brotherhood will be rekindled, and the state will be better for it. Onye ayana nwanne ya.
There’s something I learnt from ex-governor Willie Obiano during his reelection bid. It was in 2017, the governor who had heard so much about me and my media exploits chose to sponsor my first ever media Conference in Anambra organised by the duo of Hon Onyeka Mbaso and Nnanna Nzewi at Jesse Hotel, it was in the heat that Governor Obiano told me that he would like to approach his 2nd term bid with first mending fences with perceived political enemies. And that was key to his 21/21 victory at the polls. I will advise that our hardworking governor Prof Soludo should tow this lane, leave no stone unturned for 2025 guber shindig.
The new APGA under Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo is reaching greater heights and accomplishments both for the party and the generality of ndi Anambra. All well meaning citizens of Anambra who are desirous to see democratic rule at grassroots entrenched, should all rise in support of the LG elections and support candidates of their choice. Do not be distracted by the antics of the APC “War Machines, or selfish plots of the opposition elements in the state.
APGA is doing well under the leadership of Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the executive governor of Anambra State. The former Obiano boys who are ganging up, should take a break, cease unwarranted attacks on the present day government. Remember, politics of bitterness is unhealthy and counter productive. Whatever you do today, don’t forget that internet never forgets. “Onye ma echi”.
