THE 6TH QUADRENNIAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE OF RATTAWU

The Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of Radio,Television,Theatre and Arts Workers Union Nigeria (RATTAWU), took place on the 15th-17th July, 2021, in Gusau the Zamfara State Capital. The 6th RATTAWU Quadrennial National Delegates Conference (NDC), had its Theme, as “The Role of Labour Movement,regarding Safety of the work place, in an era of COVID-19 – Challenges and Opportunities”.

The Conference, saw in attendance;
Past RATTAWU Presidents; Comrade Aqua Aqua, Comrade Sabiu Mohammed, Comrade Yar Adua and Comrade Dr Yemisi Bamgbose.

High Point of the Conference, was the Election of New Executive, to pilot the affairs of the Union for the next Four Years.

The following were elected and returned by the Returning Officer, Comrade Dr Muttaqa Yusha’u of the NLC;. *Comrade Dr Kabir Garba Tsanni- National President. *Comrade Innocent Ufounaya- Deputy President. *Comrade kabala Mohammed – Vice President North Central. *Comrade Chika Abubakar Vice President *North West. Comrade Philip Daniel – Vice President North East. *Comrade Saro Ganale – Vice President South South. *Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu – Vice President South East. *Comrade Dare Durosimi – Vice President South West *Comrade Akande Adewale – National Treasurer. *Comrade Yusuf Mohammed – National Financial Secretary. *Comrade Sadiq Mohammed – National Trustee. *Comrade Izang Francis Atsen – National Publicity Secretary. *Comrade Mohammed Gwani – National Auditor.

In his acceptance speech, the re-elected RATTAWU National President, Comrade Dr Kabir Tsanni Garba, appreciated all members for the show of love and for voting the Unity team.

He promised to place Media and Cultural Workers’ Welfare, at the front burner, while redoubling his interventions efforts for victimized or oppressed Workers.
He said he will build more physical infrastructure, exposing RATTAWU Members to trainings and retrainings and consolidate on the already established partnerships with National and international bodies,for the benefit of RATTAWU members. He promised to extend the hand of friendship to those who contested but lost,as his leadership would be an open door policy.
