Archdeacon, CHS Awka Archdeaconry, Ven. Dr. Onyeka Egwuonwu had on Sunday before a multitude of congregation thanked his wife, Barr.Mrs. Chioma Egwuonwu for marrying him,.and putting up with all his difficulties in the last Seventeen (17) years of their union.

November 3rd was their marriage anniversary. Family and congregation of the Church of The Holy Spirit, Awka joined them to thank God for His faithfulness.

Ven Egwuonwu who is also the Vicar, Church of The Holy Spirit Awka said: “Chioma,!….If you know what this girl did to me…anyway…I appreciate you for marrying me”, to the admiration of the congregation numbering over two thousand worshippers.

He thanked the church for their support, and announced a support for a slot of cieling and a window at N215,000, thus encouraging other families to support the work of God.

Barr. Mrs. Chioma Egwuonwu who is the Vice-President, Mothers Union, Women’s Guild and Girls Guild Diocese of Awka was radiating and beaming with smiles all through.

An outstanding couple in the Church, Mr and Mrs Ben Umeokafor who have been married for Forty-four (44) years prayed for the Egwuonwus’ for a more blissful marriage union as they have enjoyed.

Earlier in his sermon to mark the Love Family Harvest Thanksgiving service, Ven.Dr. Onyeka Egwuonwu encouraged Christians to be alive to their consciences in order to decipher God’s directives and injunctions.

He appealed that Christians should stop allowing sin drive away the presence and anointing of God upon them, even as he insisted Christians should take responsibilities of their actions and inactions and stop shifting blames of their wrongdoings.

He advocated for repentance as solutions to Christians erring minds, adding that successes recorded by men aren’t by their making but by God’s grace. He urged Christians to appreciate God always.

He reminded that punishment to erring Christians is targeted at bringing them back to Jesus Christ, noting that once a Christian starts hiding from the presence of God, that Christian has erred.

He encouraged Christians to pray and amend their lives or be doomed, advocating for eternal vigilant by men of God or be derailed in their calling, but cautioned worshippers to be mindful of the activities of fake pastors.
Barr. Raphael Chukwuzubelu, the Chairman of Love Family, CHS, Awka appreciated all for.the solidarity and support to Love Family’s Harvest Thanksgiving, while the Church of The Holy Spirit Awka Chairman of Harvest Thanksgiving 2024, Mazi Samuel Ike spoke via Mrs.Ify Igbokwe, a member of the Harvest Thanksgiving committee. He asked God to shower members of CHS Awka with love for one another always and the encouragement to continuously support God’s work.

Ven.Dr.Onyeka Egwuonwu had also pointed out that the pleasures of life was depriving Christians from God’s mercies and blessings. He encouraged Christians to make out time for God and their Christian life shall increase ,because no Christian can live a life of Christ without Christ in him or her.

He encouraged Christians to be exemplary by shunning selfishness, pride and greed at all times, thus, every Christian should make all efforts to be at peace with all men.

The Church service was a Bible study Sunday with theme:”Christianity is a lifestyle not just other religion”.

Just as KosimasiChukwu Alexander Ochuba Jnr, son of Ambassador Kenechukwu (KC) Ochuba , a former Anglican Youth Fellowship, AYF ,of the Anglican Communion Youth Leader at CHS Awka went to church.
