SUPPORTERS OF OJIKE INNOCENT “OJICAM” REJECT OYI HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PRIMARY ELECTION RESULT, DEMAND RESTORATION OF HIS MANDATE
Supporters and members loyal to Ojike Innocent, popularly known as Ojicam, have rejected the announcement of the second primary election result for the Oyi State House of Assembly seat under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The aggrieved supporters staged a protest at the Anambra State Government House, carrying placards with various inscriptions expressing their displeasure over the outcome of the primary election process.
According to the protesters, Ojicam emerged as the preferred choice of the people during the ward primary election, insisting that the mandate freely given to him must be respected and protected.
Some of the placards displayed during the protest carried messages such as: “Return Ojicam’s Mandate,” “Ojicam Is Our Choice,” “We Reject Imposition of Candidate,” “Don’t Destroy APGA in Oyi,” “Return the People’s Mandate,” and “We Reject Manipulation of Ward Primary Election Results.”
The protesters also appealed directly to the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to intervene and ensure justice and fairness prevail in the matter.
They warned that any attempt to alter the outcome of the ward primaries or impose another candidate could create division and disunity within APGA in Oyi Local Government Area.
