1. FG Impounds British Aircraft For Operating Commercial Flight Amid COVID-19

The Federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has impounded an aircraft belonging to Flair Aviation, a United Kingdom-based aviation company for operating a commercial flight as against the humanitarian operations it was given approval for in Nigeria.

Odogwublog reports that the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika ordered the impoundment of the British aircraft for conducting commercial flights into Nigeria despite the ban on all commercial flights amid Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.

2. Lack Of Job Forced Me To Join Politics – Rotimi Amaechi

Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that he had no initial plan to join politics but unemployment forced him into it.

According to the APC chieftain, who among several other enviable political achievements was also the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly noted that though he was exposed to politics right from his young age, he didn’t nurse the idea of building a career in politics.

3. Chinese Embassy Gives Update On Whereabouts Of Chinese Doctors In Nigeria

The Chinese doctors and medics, who arrived Nigeria last month to help the Nigerian authorities in containing the ravaging Coronavirus in Nigeria, are actively working with relevant authorities and agencies to save lives, and are not missing, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria has said.

Odogwublog reports that in an interview with Vanguard newspaper, the Chinese Embassy in Abuja said contrary to claims by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the whereabouts of the Chinese doctors in Nigeria remained unknown, the 14 medical experts were effective on their duty posts to meet the mandate for which they came to Nigeria.

4. COVID-19: Lagos State Speaks On Plans To Fully Re-Open Businesses

Lagos State is considering full re-opening of the critical sectors of its economy, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, revealed on Sunday. But, the move will not be pushed in a hurry.

In the coming days, Sanwo-Olu said the State Government would be rolling out Register-to-Open initiative as part of the plans that would enable it to assess the level of readiness of the players in the identified sectors for supervised operations.

5. Galadima Reveals Why Abacha Stashed Billions, Says Nigerians Are Ignorant

A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Buba Galadima, has revealed why late military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, stashed billions of Nigeria abroad.

In an interview, Galadima, who was a top member of the Abacha regime, said the former military ruler was advised to save enough money for Nigeria.

6. Federal Government Has Not Approved Post-COVID-19 Air Travel Guideline – FAAN

The federal government of Nigeria has debunked the alleged reports of a post- COVID 19 travel guideline for air travellers.

Speaking via a press statement made available to Odogwublog, the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu said the report is false, noting that no travel guide has been approved by the minister of aviation Hadi Sidika.

7. Lagos: Three Dubai Returnees Test Positive For COVID-19

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi in a series of tweets on his official microblogging site account on Sunday morning confirmed that three Dubai returnees have tested positive for Coronavirus disease in the state.

It could be recalled that over two hundred Nigerians who had gone to Dubai for greener pasture were repatriated to Nigeria as many of them were stranded amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Odogwublog reports.

8. NAFDAC Reveals Next Line Of Action On Madagascar’s COVID-19 Herbal Cure

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disclosed that it will provide accelerated lab analysis for the Madagascar herbal cure for COVID-19 which arrived Nigeria on Saturday.

Odogwublog recalls the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari received the Madagascar drug samples named Covid Organics from the visiting President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Embalo, at the presidential villa in Abuja on Saturday.

9. Jonathan Denies ‘Hate-filled’ Comments On Biafra

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has denied a statement credited to him on the position of Niger Delta over agitations for Biafra.

Odogwublog reports that an online publication had claimed that Jonathan spoke on the relationship between the South East and Niger Delta.

10. President Buhari Reappoints Akabueze DG Budget Office

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of Mr Benjamin Akabueze as Director-General (DG) of the Budget Office of the Federation.

The appointment was made known in a statement by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
