“Stop castigating men of God”- Archbishop Ibezim charges Christians

Archbishop Province of the Niger, and Bishop Anglican Diocese of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, PhD yesterday frowned at what he called orchestrated scheme to castigate men of God by some evil men hiding under the canopy of Church.

Archbishop Ibezim enjoined true children of God to desist from joining evil men in the church in castigating men of God for it has repercussions.

Archbishop Ibezim made the remarks while delivering his sermon at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Parish, Amanuke, Awka North local government area, during 2020 confirmation and admission into Mothers’ Union and Girls’ Guild.

The Churches involved in the confirmation and admission into Mothers’Union and Girls’ Guild were St Stephen’s Parish, Mgbakwu; St Nicholas Parish, Achalla; Christ Church Parish, Urum and Holy Trinity Parish, Amanuke.

He pointed out that whoever castigates men of God will suffer it’s consequences, adding that Christians should bridle their tongues to avoid the glory of God departing from them.

He further warned men over promiscuous life, urging them to stop deceiving our young girls for sex with money, urging young boys to flee fornication in all ramifications.

He encouraged each Community in the Archdeaconry to organize a revival crusade to win souls for Jesus Christ during Christmas.

The service conducted by Ven Nehemiah Ugoagu, Archdeacon Mgbakwu Archdeaconry was attended by President, Mothers’Union, Women’s Guild and Girls’s Guild, Province of the Niger and Diocese of Awka, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim (Nneoma), Admin assistant to the Archbishop Ven Dr Rex Kanu , Arghbshop’s Chaplains Rev Christian Okafor and Rev Chidi Ufoaro and Security Chaplain ,Rev Canon Charles Chukwurah as well as Archbishop ICT officer ,Rev Eleazer Okere.

Other priests in the Archdeaconry were Rev Canon Emma Onyemuche, Rev Bethram Igwebuonu , Rev James Okeke , Rev J. Medolu, Rev Kingsley Chukwukanma , Rev Chibuzor Chinyeaka and Rev Basil Nwabichili as well as the host priest Rev Shedrack Obidajua. An Indigenous priest from Abakaliki Diocese, Rev Emmanuel Enemor was also present.

In an interview shortly after the service, the Archdeacon, Mgbakwu Archdeaconry, Ven Nehemiah Ugoagu appealed to the Anambra state government to recognize the gold mine in Awka North local government area and tap into it for the benefit of the state but that wouldn’t be possible without infrastructure upgrade for the council area. He said Awka North is yawning for development, wondering why it should be very close to the capital but abandoned.

In his remarks also, the Vicar and hosting priest, Holy Trinity Anglican Church Parish Amanuke, Rev Shedrack Obidajua described the confirmation and admission of Mothers’Union and Girls’ Guild as a huge success, thanking the Archbishop and President of Mothers’Union for their love and understanding always.
