State Police Proposal? Nigeria does not need any new state police in place

I don’t support a new creation in the name of state police. There is already a state police in place in various states in Nigeria.
There is no state in Nigeria that does not already have armed Security outfit controlled by the state govt with different nomenclature. Some called theirs, Vigilante Group, Hisbah, Neighborhood-watch, Amotekun, etc.
Reform your state vigilante services to reflect modern policing.
These State based security organizations are put in place to police and secure various states or communities in collaboration with the Federal Police.
Calling for setting up another Police structure in the name of State police will end up as a political tool for governors than security institution. The FAILURE of the State Independent Electoral Commissions of various states can remind us what will be the outcome of a new State police being proposed.
Modern Policing is not all about creating multiple organizations and sharing guns to their officers !

Generate reliable Data and plan with it.
You Can’t secure a people you don’t have their data!
You can’t secure Nigeria with outdated tools.
Get the economy working and you will reduce crime to manageable level
