Legacy University Okija: We Offer Scholarship To Indigent Students, Fees Affordable- Pro-Chancellor

The Pro-Chancellor of Legacy University, Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Dr. Leonard Nkameme has disclosed that the fees payable in the institution is cheap and affordable.

Dr. Nkameme made the disclosure in his speech during the press conference held in the School Hall, saying that the institution also allows flexible payments in installments as well as offer Scholarship to students who complain that their parents are no longer capable to pay their necessary fees for them.

” We understand the financial constraints that students may face which is why we offer affordable school fees and flexible payment plans in installments making quality education accessable to all students”

” For the students who might complain that their parents could no longer cope up in paying fees for them, the only option is for the students to report to the Dean of students Affair. The Dean will now bring the report to the school founders, from there, the founders will pick up and place the student on Scholarship. We don’t allow students to go because of incapability of the parent” Said Nkameme.

He further hinted that the scholarship scheme had been in progress since the inception of the institution, even as he expounded that the mission and vision of the school founders were not for profit making venture, noting that they established the School in order to contribute positive impact for the development of the country.

” He continue saying that” Legacy University Okija stands as a beacon of higher education, embodying exceptional qualities that set us apart from the rest. One of the hallmarks of our University is the official recognition and licencing bestowed upon us by both the Federal Government of Nigeria and the National Universities Commission ( NUC) “

” The 100 percent accreditation status attained by our institution serves as a testament to our commitment to providing quality education and upholding academic standards of the highest caliber”

Speaking shortly, the Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees ( BOT) of the institution, Chief Festus Onyima” Ikemba Umuoji” stated that they derive Joy from training students in the School ” It is a thing of joy that we are here taking care of the students who are handicapped that cannot continue, we take it up from there”

” We don’t want anybody who step into Legacy University Okija to go without graduating. What we are trying to do is to ensure that students are being comfortable. Those who their parents are capable to sponsor, let them continue paying for their Children. But, for those who cannot continue, we do something. We culture them, we train them. We make sure we produce people Nigerian will be proud of anywhere they go” Said Ikemba Umuoji.

Similarly, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ezikel Ihionu said that the difference between the School and other Schools is that, from time to time, they gather and update themselves on happenings in the institution, saying that they carry everybody along.

He praised the Pro-Chancellor and other Board of Trustees (BOT) for their tireless efforts in maintaining the School standard, appealing to the Anambra State government to assist them to build the road leading to their School. 

Equally speaking, the Dean of students Affair, Mrs. Chinyere Ibe testified that Legacy University Okija is actually prides of itself, stressing that the academic ability of the students are true evidence of high standards of the institution.

She however disclosed that the numerical strength of the students are above seven hundred, eulogizing parents for bringing their Children in the School for quality training and urged them to spread the good news of the school to others so that they should bring their own wards for proper reformation.

Other  staff of the School who commented during the event included; Admission Officer, Ezema Vincent, HOD Banking and Finance, Dr. Ngine Sufficiency and Academic Planning Officer, Julius Temuhale.
