STATE CREATION: UMÚNZE BEMOANS INCLUSION IN PROPOSED ORLU STATE

The people of Umúnze Community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, have collectively condemned in its entirety, the inclusion of the town in the proposed Orlu State by the Honourable member representing Deato North and South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja, Honourable Ikenga Ugochinyere.
Speaking during an interview with Journalists in Awka ,the Present -General of the town, Sir Engr. Onyinyechukwu Iheazor, said that Umunze was in total support of creation of additional State in the South -East for equity and justice to to reign.
He, however, said that the community is condemning the act of including Umunze in the proposed Orlu State without the consent of the town, especially in a situation where the Member representing Orumba North and South in the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja, Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife was not in picture of the decision making.
The the Present -General, who overtly confirmed that the people of the town will not be involved in the proposed Orlu State, maintained that the town has no affinity , cultural and traditional resemblance with the people of Orlu.
He, therefore, urged the Umunze people to remain calm as the leadership of the Umunze Progressive Union is in touch with the Hon. Member on a better way to handle the situation, assuring the them that the new Umunze community (Abilikete) is achieved.
