SSANU chairperson, Nwangwu receives Human Capital Development Award

The Chairperson, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Unizik Chapter, Comrade Dr. Njideka Nwangwu, has been given the Human Capital Development Award by the authorities of Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The award presentation which took place during the Faculty of Education Alumni Homecoming Ceremony, was in recognition of her integrity, hard work, passion for education, as well as contributions to human capital development in society. The event took place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at ASUU-NAU Secretariat of the University.

As part of her humanitarian services, Comrade Nwangwu constantly provides relief materials to Model Motherless babies home through the Ministry of Women Affairs, this writer gathered.

While presenting the award, the Dean of Education Faculty, Prof. Vivian Nwogbo, described Comrade Nwangwu as a great ambassador and a worthy alumnus of the faculty, whose contributions to education and human capital development were instructive. She, therefore, urged her not to rest on her oars.

In a response, Comrade Dr. Nwangwu expressed her gratitude to the faculty of education for her worth of the recognition, while reassuring her unalloyed support to the faculty, which, she said, made her what she is today. According to her, “I dedicate this award to the faculty of education and my department, Technology and Vocational Education, from where I obtained my master and doctoral degrees in 2011 and 2021 respectively.

Let me also seize this opportunity to specially thank Prof. Chika Ile, Prof. Justina Ezenwafor, Prof. Ogochukwu Ibeneme and Prof. Reko Okoye, for their academic impacts”, she enthused.

Comrade Nwangwu further thanked the organisers, University management, staff, students and other well-wishers who accompanied her to the occasion.
