Six Nabbed In Anambra Over Organ Harvesting

Six persons have been apprehended at Nnobi Anambra State for allegedly murdering and reaping the organs of their victims in Anambra Communities.

The suspects included three young men identified as Nokia, Mpata and Swallow and two unidentified young girls one of who is a native of Nnewi.

They confessed to being notorious armed robbers, kidnappers and rapists, among other social vices terrorizing Nnewi, Nnobi Nnokwa, Awka-Etiti and environs.

Irate sources said the arrest was a tip of caused by a recent killing and harvesting of the male organ of a yet-to-be-identified victim whose body was found at River Obiaja, a water body that lies at the boundary between Nnobi in Idemili South and Uke and Ideani in Idemili North Local Government Areas of Anambra State, Saturday February 12, 2023.

The suspects who were arrested in a hideout were said to have confessed that they grabbed the victim, held his hands to his back while Nokia sliced off his penis.

The leader of the gang, Nokia, was said to have also confessed that he was the one who killed the pharmacist at Nnobi, adding that he was paid to kill the pharmacist and cut off his arms from the wrist for the principal who wanted the victim’s destiny.

The hoodlums who confessed that they were responsible for the 9 bodies found at the river sometime in 2021,said the male organ of the victims was sold at a price of N50 000 to alleged purchasers of human parts in Anambra while the palms of the late pharmacist was allegedly sold to an indigene of the town who paid for the victim to be killed, according to sources.

The hoodlums who were caught by Nnobi Youths were said to have been handed over to security operatives at the time DAILY INDEPENDENT reached Nnobi Hall where the suspects were paraded.
The PPRO Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu did not pick his call for his reaction at the time of this report on Thursday.
