SFTAS World Bank Project: Karu Council Chair rolls out benefits,cautions saboutuers

The World Bank has commenced free registration of property in 3 council wards of Karu local government area of Nasarawa state.

Speaking on the benefits that would be derived from the systemic property registration in Karu Youth center on Wednesday, Honourable Samuel Akala ,the Council”s Executive Chairman,cautioned individuals who may want to take advantage of the programme to stay clear or risk legal actions that may land them in jail.

Honourable Samuel Akala said the flag off of the pilot programme in Karu local government area would be of immense benefit to the people,ranging from property security to giving government the opportunity to plan the area properly,as well as the opportunity to see and do a needs assessment of the locality.

He said” it will also afford the government to know the need of the people,what could the people require,could it be roads,water or could it be improvement in security?

“And then of course ,it will also address the issues of poor addressing system in the area,once these property are entered into the system,you can Google it location anywhere.

Akala further explained that the systemic property registration will put an end to the issues of land grabbing in those areas.

He also pointed out that the programme will cover 3 wards namely, Karu,Bagaji and Aso-Kodape,whereas it offers job opportunities to 56 unemployed youths who had already been engaged to work for 6 months .

In a separate interview, the Chairman, Nasarawa Youth Council of Nigeria,Karu branch,Comrade Adamu Dahiru ,hailed the initiative and appealed to the people of Karu to give the project the enabling support.

Adamu Dahiru added that the programme will also improve security and give a sense of beautification to the area,while thanking the chairman for his visionary leadership which has helped shape Karu local government area.
