Set ’95 Alumni Donate 10 Computers to Alma Mater as Bishop Alkali Dedicates ICT Boost
It was a moment of joy, gratitude, and reflection at St. Bartholomew’s School, Wusasa, as the Bishop of Wusasa, The Rt. Rev. Alkali Titus, formally dedicated ten computer systems donated to the school’s ICT laboratory by the Set ’95 Old Boys.
The donation, presented during a courtesy visit to the school on February 10, 2026, was made by members of the pioneer graduating class of the Senior Secondary Section of St. Bartholomew’s School Wusasa.
Though the institution began as a primary school in 1929, it has produced distinguished Nigerians, including Yakubu Gowon, Theophilus Danjuma, Adamu Baikie, and several other prominent leaders in government and public service.
Representing the alumni were Adeniyi Ibrahim, Nathaniel Iliya Bagai, Moses Adejoh, and Ibrahim Usman, with coordination led by Gbenga Ojomo.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Moses Adejoh recounted their formative experiences at the school, noting that the values and discipline instilled in them inspired their decision to give back in appreciation.
The donated systems Intel Core i5 Lenovo desktop computers (All-in-one) equipped with 8GB RAM and 250GB hard drives were received by the Principal, Mr. Innocent Opufou, alongside members of the school’s management team.
In his address during the dedication ceremony held on 19th February, Bishop Alkali expressed deep appreciation for the generous gesture. He urged teachers to remain conscious of their conduct and influence, emphasizing that their example plays a critical role in shaping students into responsible leaders who, in turn, will remember and support the institutions that nurtured them.
He added that the Diocese holds the alumni in high esteem, which informed his personal presence to dedicate the computers.
The Bishop concluded with prayers for the donors and their families.
The principal, also expressed gratitude to the alumni and appealed to other graduating sets to emulate the initiative. While acknowledging the continued need for additional systems due to the growing student population, he described the donation as a significant improvement to the existing facilities.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Board Chairman St. Barth Schools, Prof. Paul Abdu, commended the donors for their commitment to the development of their alma mater and appreciated the Bishop for officiating the dedication.
The Alverstoke Computer Laboratory, which houses the new systems, was originally donated by diocesan link partners from Alverstoke, USA.
The latest contribution by Set ’95 further strengthens the school’s commitment to equipping students with essential digital skills in an increasingly technology-driven world.
