Senator I.G Abana Foundation Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Senator I.G. Abana Foundation is celebrating her ten years of touching human lives.

The founder of the Foundation, Senator Godson Abana, disclosed this during a press briefing at Uruekwo Village, Enugu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area.

Senator I.G. Abana Foundation, a humanitarian, non-profit and non-governmental organization was established on the twenty seventh of December 2010.

The main aim of the organization is to uplift the living standards of the people.

Speaking to the press, the founder, Senator Abana, revealed that the vision of the foundation is encapsulated in the six -point agenda which include Scholarship Scheme for indigent but brilliant secondary School and University students, financial empowerment for small scale businesses, especially women.

He added that the foundation also engages on free medical services, food stuff assistance for the poor and Centre for the elderly scheme among others.

Senator Abana also said that the foundation since inception has sponsored about one hundred and seventeen secondary School students, seventy-three University students through the scholarship scheme and touched thousands of people through other interventions.

He noted that he is the sole sponsor of the foundation and has no political inclinations and advised that everyone can in their own little way touch lives through various ways.

In an interview, a member of the board of trustees of foundation, Sir Ikechukwu Abana, said everybody has the potential to impact positively on humanity and encouraged people to assist one another in any way they can.

Also speaking another member of the board, Mr Sam Ekpe, noted that the foundation is different from other foundations because its selling point is that it does not solicit for funds from anybody but it is solely funded by the founder.

The tenth anniversary will come up on the twenty-eight of this Month.
