Pupils and students have fully resumed school and academic activities ongoing as observed within Awka and environs, as well as other parts of Anambra State.

To ensure that academic activities are in full swing, the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB Chairman; Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, visited schools in Oyi and Onitsha North Council Areas.

At Hill Top Primary School, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, pupils were seen cleaning their classrooms, while at Akpaka Community School, Onitsha, pupils were seen already taking lessons and other academic activities going on fully.

In her remark, the ASUBEB Chairman, Dr. Nwadinobi, who said that the turnout of pupils were not impressive, emphasized that “resumption test” is part of academic grading, urging parents and guardians to release their children for school, even as she commended teachers for resuming promptly for the academic session.

Dr. Nwadinobi appreciated Governor Soludo for building a secondary school at Akpaka to help those within the area access free secondary education, unlike what was obtainable, saying that everything has been put in place for a successful session.

The Education Secretary for Onitsha North Council Area, Mrs Fidelia Ifionu, noted that school resumption in the area has been smooth so far, and that meeting for teachers and school heads were held before resumption to ensure a seamless session, thanking Governor Soludo for starting a secondary school at Akpaka.
