Royal Farewell: Ogboji Declares Igwe’s Throne Vacant After Historic Ofala Ceremony

The entire Igwe in-Council, Ndi Nze na Ozo, Ogboji Town Union and the entire Ogboji Community have on April 15, performed the last Ofala Outing of Igwe F.O Iyioku (Oranyere Eze II) of Ogboji in Orumba South LGA, Anambra State.

The event took place at the traditional ruler’s palace with people from all walks of life including the members of Anambra South Traditional Rulers Council, President Generals of Communities, ndi Onowu, clerics, prominent sons and daughters of Ogboji community coming to pay their last respects to the late traditional ruler.

The President General of Ogboji Hon. Ndubuisi Nwaedozie said Igwe F.O Iyioku reigned with peace and compassion and his strength and courage was a beacon of hope in times of turmoil, his visionary leadership a guiding light which has left an indelible mark in the annals of Ogboji.

The Onowu of Ogboji, Chief Kay Anyacho described the late monarch as a peace loving person whose reign was marked with a lot of development and innovation to traditional institution in Ogboji.

The highlight of the occasion was the traditional rites of declaring the seat of an Igwe vacant by the Anambra South Traditional Rulers Council, and the formal handover of the regalia of the late Igwe to the PG and Onowu, traditional dance, entertainment and gun Salute.
