Rotary club decorates Unizik VC with One Star Paul Harris Fellow award

The Rotary Club of Awka has decorated the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Charles Esimone with a One Star Paul Harris Fellow Award.

The club with delegation of both past and present presidents and members performed the decorations during a courtesy visit the vice Chancellor in Awka.

The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, support for education, and the alleviation of poverty across the world.

According to the Awka Rotary club, Paul Harris Fellow recognition is given to a Rotarian or a member of the community who is not a rotarian.

The award is signed by the Rotary International President and the Chairman of the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation, and comes along with a lapel pin for their tireless efforts and support to the club and humanity.

Decorating the UNIZIK VC, Professor Esimone, Rtn. Chika Ekwueme who is the District Chair Peace Building, Conflict Prevention and Conflict Resolution, said the present is coming in acknowledgement of Professor Esimone’s giant support and assistance in touching lives positively in all parts of the state as well as his efforts at human development.

He solicited for more support especially in the selection of candidates for an annual fully paid scholarship programme of the foundation that will represent the District in masters degree on conflict prevention and resolution in their key centers in the seven prestigious universities in the world after which they are expected to help reduce conflicts in their localities. Speaking the President Rotary Club of Awka Rtn. Blaize Nnadozie said that the award clearly shows that Professor Esimone understands the mission and vision of the club and urged him not to relent in his tireless efforts of in touching lives positively praying God to continue to bless him.

Responding Professor Esimone thanked the club for the unexpected gesture and show of appreciation, said that his good deeds and continuous support goes to God alone and not for man to appreciate, assured the club of regular partnership to events that Will impact to humanity.
