A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who visited the venue of the screening at Police Officers’ Mess, Agbani Road, on Friday, observed that the exercise was ongoing smoothly.

It was observed that the officials of the exercise, which started on Jan. 8, screened out applicants with tattoo marks, body amputation, impediment in speech, deformed hand and those with obesity among others.

Speaking on the exercise, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the screening had been ongoing successfully without any challenge.

Ndukwe said that the intending applicants for the constable job had been cooperative and had abided by the day of their scheduled screening and requirements specified as well.

According to him, you can rightly observe the orderliness, decorum and comportment of the intending applicants coming for the screening.

“We are on track and the exercise is smooth and hitch-free without any challenge since we started on Monday.

“Each of these establishments are here to ensure their mandates are protected in the exercise and Enugu State is not short-changed,” he added.

NAN recalls that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Kanayo Uzuegbu, had earlier warned intending constables against activities of scammers, adding that applicants should not give a kobo to anyone in the process of the screening.
