The newly elected Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Uche Collins Nwogwugwu of the Department of Economics has reassured the members of the faculty that with thier support the faculty with record giant strides under his watch.
While commending all who voted him in the keenly contested Election, Prof Nwogwugwu appealed for support across board as he is the Dean for the progress of the faculty. He thanked his co-contestants Prof Frank-Collins Okafor of department of Political Science and Prof Allen Adum of Mass Communication.
Prof. Nwogwugwu added: ‘ With humility and gratitude to God most High, I thank all members of Faculty of Social Sciences for urging me to serve by their vote. It’s about Services above self. My co-contestants Prof Frank-Collins Okafor, you remain a model of some sort and a fellow in service and Prof Allen Adum, you are a great man with a heart of lion. My respect too. It’s about Social Science Faculty, let’s ennoble it and together it is a done deal’.
www.odogwublog.com reports that Professor Uche Collins Nwogwugwu of the Department of Economics was elected as the new Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences Tuesday.
The election was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Esimone, FAS who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Frederick Odibo, and the Registrar, Barr. Philomena Okoye.
Professor Nwogwugwu polled a total of 88 votes to defeat Professor Frankcollins Okafor (61 votes) of the Department of Political Science and Professor Allen Adum (47 votes) of Mass Communication Department.
Encomiums have poured in from all sides Including from his contestants but Prof. Barr. J.C. Okafor added colour when he said: ‘once more, I congratulate our new Dean, Prof. U. C. Nwagwogu, & other contestants, Profs FC. Okafor & A. N. Adum, for their gallant contest. I commend you for your spirit of sportsmanship. May all members of FSS join hands to move the Faculty to a greater height. Remain blessed’.
