Education, as we understand it here, is a process of inviting truth and possibility, of encouraging and giving time to discovery. It is, as John Dewey (1916) put it, a social process – ‘a process of living and not a preparation for future living’. In this view educators look to act with people rather on them. Their task is to ‘educe’ (related to the Greek notion of educere), to bring out or develop potential.

According to UNICEF, “every child has the right to learn and on any given school day, over 1 billion children around the world head to class.” “More children and adolescents today are enrolled in pre-primary, primary and secondary education than ever before. Yet, for many of them, schooling does not lead to learning.”

A lack of trained teachers, inadequate learning materials, makeshift classes and poor sanitation facilities make learning difficult for many children. Others come to school too hungry, sick or exhausted from work or household tasks to benefit from their lessons.

In line with the above challenges, Prince Charles Chidubem Okoye has vowed to change the narratives of education in the nation by creating a greater environment suitable for the grooming of our inestimable future generations.

This epoch event, saw the unveiling of WisdomVille International School, Chidon Drive, Uda Layout, Oshimilli LGA, Asaba Delta State. The school which will concentrate on creche, nursery and primary education, is poised in giving the best for her pupils.

Prince Charles who couldn’t hide his joy, buttressed that, education is the only tool necessary in shaping the future of our children and the Nation at large. He stressed that there’s need to invest academically in the lives of our children as Leaders of tomorrow.
