The 2026 Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) National Prayer Convocation was officially declared open on Wednesday 3rd June, 2026 at the Cathedral Church of St. Bartholomew, Kubwa with intercession taking centre stage in the Church’s mission of discipling the nations.

The official opening was performed on behalf of the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba, by Rt. Rev. Praise Omole-Ekun, who represented the Primate at the ceremony.

In his address, the Primate expressed a deep desire that the spiritual fire ignited on the altar during the Convocation would not be allowed to die, but would continue to burn in the lives of participants and across the Church.
He warned participants and the Church at large to remain vigilant against satanic conspiracies targeting the work of the Kingdom, citing Ezekiel 22:25 and related passages.
