POS attendant docked for allegedly stealing N260,000

A 26-year-old employee of a Point of Sale (POS) outlet, Jeceinta Pereire, was on Monday docked in an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing N260,000.

Pereire is charged with conspiracy and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Dr Simeon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 9 at the Iyana School area of Iba in Ojo

He said that the defendant, who is an employee of a POS outlet belonging to Mr Princewill Ezenwaka, the complainant stole N260,000 belonging to the complainant.

The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

Magistrate Ademola Adesanya  admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until May 9 for mention. (NAN)
