Police boss wades into land dispute between two Anambra Communities

Warns parties to eschew violence and maintain peace

Anambra state commissioner of police CP John B. Abang has waded into the looming land dispute between Achalla and Uruum communities in Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra state.

Spokesman of Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, in a release to odogwublog.com said that the CP invited all stake holders of the two Communities over the looming crisis and wades into the matter.

He attributed the cause of the dispute to an alleged tresspass of land belonging to Uruum Community by Achalla Community who also claimed ownership of same of land.

“In order to prevent breakdown of law and order between Achalla and Uruum communities in Awka North LGA of Anambra State over the looming land dispute between the two Communities which has generated tension in the affected areas,the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP John B. Abang, fdc has today 14/5/2020 invited all stake holders of the two Communities over the looming crisis and wades into the matter.

” Remote cause of the problem was the alleged tresspass of land belonging to Uruum Community by Achalla Community who also claimed ownership of same of land.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang, warned both parties to maintain peace and explore all the legal avenues to resolve the matter without resorting to violence.

“The CP further assured both parties that he would contact the State Government boundary Commission to key into the matter in order to ascertain the rightful owners of the disputed land”.
