Police Discover Two Gun Manufacturing Factories in Benue, Arrest Suspects

The Benue State Police Command has uncovered two gun manufacturing factories in Guma and Kwande local government areas. This was revealed in a statement by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Steve Yabanet, on Tuesday. The CP explained that, following credible information about illegal gun manufacturing in Mbaafa, Adikpo, Kwande LGA, police detectives were dispatched to investigate. On January 11, the police raided a gun factory in Mbaafa, arresting two suspects, Friday Aduduakamve and Iorwashima Iornyume, also known as AK-35. During the operation, nine fabricated pistols and an incomplete AK-47 rifle were recovered. Additionally, another factory was uncovered in Daudu, Guma LGA, where more weapons were seized. Police gathered intelligence linking a 50-year-old suspect, Meme Ihoon, to the production of firearms used by criminals in the area. On January 10, Ihoon was arrested, and six dane guns, along with three gun-making pipes, were found in his home. The suspect admitted to manufacturing and selling arms, and further investigations are underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the illicit operation.
