For almost two weeks, we have been on the road, criss-crossing the entire country, sharing food and hospital materials provided by Mr, Peter Obi towards ameliorating the suffering of Nigerians during this COVID-19 pandemics.
Today, we visited four hospitals located in Abia and Imo states. The hospitals are:
- Holy Rosary Hospital Emekuku Owerri, Imo State, owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri
- Our Saviour’s Hospital and Maternity, Amainyi, Imo state, owned by the Okigwe South Diocese of the Anglican Communion
- Madonna Catholic Hospital, Umuahia, owned by the Umuahia Catholic Diocese
- Archbishop Chibuzo Opoko’s residence for the palliatives of Methodist Hospital, Uzuakoli.
Each of the hospital visited received materials worth about 2 million Naira, namely: 2000 face masks each; 8,000 pieces of hand gloves each; 200 bottles of sanitizers (500 mls); and 8 big cartons of paracetamol tablets.
Each of the hospitals was overwhelmed by the gesture of Mr. Peter Obi, which they described as typical of his person.
We have attached the video of the Methodist Prelate and Archbishop of Umuahia, Dr. Chibuzo Opobo, whose sentiments capture the feeling of the people towards Obi’s gesture of love and concern.
On Mr. Peter Obi’s delegation were Prof. Stella Chinyere Okunna, Chief Barr. Joe Martins Uzodike, Dr. Patrick Obi and Mr. valentine Obienyem.
The delegation also overwhelmed by the out -pouring of love is already looking forward to others places slated for visits.
