Pandemonium in Kano over distribution of covid-19 palliatives

There was pandemonium at the Igwe’s Palace Freetown Sabon Gari, Kano state following the distribution of covid -19 pandemic.

Kano state had been in the relegation zone in the NCDC covid 19 log since the country recorded her index case back in February, but over the last few weeks the state had witnessed upward surge and now comfortably occupy 3rd position on the log.

An eye witness who pleaded anonymity told odogwublog.com that the state which has been on the spotlight following the pandemic had provided relief materials including rice, cooking oil and cartons of noodles to cushion the effect of sit-at-home order necessited by the novel pandemic in SABON GARI area of the State.

The source said: ” The youths stunned the palace as they noticed the items are being taken away by those who still can afford to fuel their car in the face of the tribulation”.

“The whole process turned into chaos as the angry youths demanded for their share or rather to be shared to the destituted and those who can’t afford to eat as their earning depends on day to day activities.

The ensuing fracas put the distribution to a pause as the state covid 19 task force arrived at the scene and the distribution continued, to the surprise of the youth to the same category of individuals.

Another source said,” the angry youths then improvised a mean by waiting for the benefactors to move their car towards a joint and raiding them of the items. As more task force arrived at the scene, the youths disappeared one after the other and the rest were compensated with half bag of rice, one carton of noodle and one litre of cooking oil.
