Organisers postpone Anambra Man of the Year Awards

The planning committee of Anambra Man of the Year Awards hereby announces the postponement of the Award event earlier scheduled for Saturday, the 1st of July, 2023. This move became absolutely necessary because of the need to engage the State Government and smoothen the rough edges of communication for a more harmonized outing.

To set the record straight, the Organizers have never created the impression that the Award is government sponsored or associated with the government.
The usage of the name “Anambra” by Anambrarians to promote positive causes about the State is not peculiar to Anambra Man of the Year Awards and that is quite different from using Anambra State or Anambra State Government. There are other privately driven brands like Anambra Rice, Anambra Media Awards,Anambra Fashion Expo etc.,that go with the name. To us, it should not be discouraged rather it ought to be encouraged and supported by government. More so, when such causes tend to fire up the spirit of the people and deepen their love for their homeland.

This is the third edition of the award and It is important to note that great Anambrarians like Chief Dr. Alexander Chika Okafor,Mr Val Ozigbo, Mr Nonso Okpala of VFD Group PLC, Hon Justice Nkem Izuako (Rtd)etc have all received the award.

The 100 Anambra Achievers Team,one the major promoters of the Award does not need an introduction as they have over the years toured the length and breadth of the state and the entire country, collecting inspiring stories of some of the people that make Anambra tick.

Anambra Man of the Year Awards, is a community centered initiative that helps us to drive a social transformation on the image of what success should look like. Over the past three years, the organisers increasingly engage young people in the state, re-orienting their minds and ambitions from a base finite goal of money making to society building and generational impact.

This is our way to contribute to the growth of Anambra and begin to restore its pride in the committee of states.

Given the success we have achieved in this vision within a short period, funding it from our limited resources, we ordinarily had expected a resounding recognition by the Government.

The Organizers of the Award are complementary partners in progress to the State government. Be that as it may ,we feel it’s important that the buy in of the state government is sought and achieved for a better program. We acknowledge the difficulties the postponement will occasion and it is deeply regrettable.
We will communicate the new date of the event in due time even as we thank ndi Anambra and especially all our awardees,keynote speaker,chairman of the occasion,special guests,traditional rulers and church leaders for their uncommon understanding .

We regret all inconveniences this unfortunate postponement will cause all our invited guests
