There’s a ray of hope that the political cliche that in politics there’s no permanent friend nor enemy but rather permanent interest may soon play out in Imo State as former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha has revealed that talks are ongoing for reconciliation between him and His Excellency Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of People’s Democratic Party, PDP who supposedly was Okorocha’s governorship successor but his short-lived governance was truncated and declared illegal by the nation’s apex court.

Okorocha recently told APC faithful, comprising factional State Working Committee (SWC), Local Government and Ward Executives in the State who were on an invitational meeting in his Spibat Owerri residence that Ihedioha had approached him severally for reconciliation.

He claimed that his condition for such reconciliation is for Ihedioha and other leaders of the PDP to apologize to his daughter, Mrs Uloma Nwosu for laying their hands on her when Ihedioha was governor of the State.

Surprisingly,Okorocha’s claim is coming barely a year he had denied reports that he is not in alliance with Ihedioha to remove Governor Hope Uzodimma from office as political pundits then insinuated.

Recall that Mr.Sam Onwuemedo, Media Adviser to Senator Okorocha had in a statement in July 2020, vehemently denied of non existence of such an alliance.

Mr. Onwuemedo wrote then “To say the least, Okorocha is not in alliance with Ihedioha for removing Governor Hope Uzodinma or for any other reason. Those behind the story should stop making mockery of the APC or the State”

“Senator Rochas Okorocha cannot destroy what he had labored to build at the risk of his political Career. He planted the seed of APC in Imo, nurtured it to maturity and it has continued to bear fruits. Those who have benefited from this vision only need to appreciate and acknowledge who God used to make it possible. Since 2013, the story of APC in Imo has remained Okorocha’s Creation.

“And he cannot destroy what he had worked hard and taken the political risk of his life to erect, for any reason. Those enjoying the fruits of APC in Imo or even in the South-East should always appreciate the vision and ingenuity of Okorocha that made the whole thing possible. Trying to change the narrative for any reason, won’t be the best” he pointed out.
