Senator Stella Oduah, through the Senator Stella Oduah Liberators Network, has adopted 5,000 residents of Anambra North for registration under the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme (ASHIA).

The initiative was launched on Sept. 28, at the Federal Medical Centre, Onitsha, where the beneficiaries commenced the process of registering with the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA).

The Senator Stella Oduah Liberators Network is sponsoring the beneficiaries’ participation in the scheme, while ASHIA is responsible for their registration and administration of the health insurance coverage.

During a sensitisation session, Mrs Okoli Tonia explained the registration process, guiding participants on how to access services covered under the scheme once their registration is completed.

For the beneficiaries, the initiative is expected to provide financial protection against eligible healthcare costs and give them a structured pathway to accessing services through the state health insurance system.

The programme equips participants with information on their entitlements, helping them understand how to use their coverage when they require medical attention.

The initiative brings thousands of residents into the state’s organised health insurance framework and represents a community-level effort to widen access to health insurance in Anambra North.
