OAU Students Decry Surge in Off-Campus Robberies

Students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, have raised alarm over a spike in violent robberies at off-campus residences, with over 30 cases reported in two weeks. Victims have suffered injuries, theft, and bank account breaches.
The Students’ Union is demanding urgent intervention from federal, state, and university authorities, warning of mass protests if action is not taken.
Meanwhile, OAU’s management stated it lacks jurisdiction over off-campus security and urged police to step up patrols in student-populated areas.
