Nzuko Umunna 2021: AASDU Lagos set to host Anambra governorship aspirants – ITREALMS

The Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) in Lagos, has concluded plans to host aspirants in the forthcoming November 6 governorship elections in the state to a Roundtable tagged Nzuko Umunna.

President of AASDU Lagos, Chief Sir Amechi Ebeledike, disclosed this to ITREALMS at a press conference on Thursday at Patangelina Event Centre, Ebute Meta, said that Nzuko Umunna has been scheduled to hold in Lagos on Saturday October 9, 2021 with the flag bearers of the political parties contesting the November 6, 2021 Governorship election.
The platform, he said, will provide the candidates with the opportunity to interact with the major influential stakeholders in the Anambra Project and by extension connection with the grassroots decision makers.

He confirmed that Nzuko Umunna would hold at Colonades Hotels Ikoyi-Lagos, stressing that the event is part of the AASDU registered 9-point objectives, which include “to initiate, organize and execute programmes, activities and projects calculated to enhance at all times amiable brotherhood, harmony, unity, understanding and co-operation among its members and to promote social, cultural and economic well-being and image of Anambra State in particular, and Nigeria in general”.

With the advantage of the dominant role Anambrarians in Lagos play, AASDU Lagos has a mission to restore the dignity of Anambra State and her citizens as the light of the nation, thus the group engage in activities aimed at ensuring the corporate well-being of the people.

“One of such engagements is our NZUKO UMUNNA scheduled to hold here in Lagos on Saturday October 9, 2021 with the flag bearers of the political parties contesting the November 6, 2021 Governorship election,” he declared.

In addition, he said, they have forum for engagements with their host government here in Lagos, the Centre of Excellence, “on matters affecting us as law abiding residents. There has been a great deal of progressive partnership with the host government to ensure peaceful coexistence with fellow residents.”
They, therefore, called for continuous cooperation and support of every Anambra indigene and encourage them to join their respective town unions, so as to be covered under the AASDU umbrella.

“We urge our people to be patriotic and law abiding at all times within the jurisdiction of our host State,” Ebeledike said.

Chairman of the Activities, Programme and Implementation Committee (APIC) of AASDU, Engr. Theo Madu, said there is plan also to deploy hybrid facilities to accommodate participants virtually, maintaining that all aspirants are encouraged to take active part to interact and sell their programmes to Ndi Anambra.

The press conference was attended by some Executive Committee members including the 2nd vice president, Chief Ugo Offodile, assistant legal adviser, Barr Victor Nwakasi, Ex Officio members namely Sir Eric Nwafor, Chief Chris Eze, Chief Henry Cole and publicity secretary, Mr. Chidi Abajue, Director of Socials, Nze Felix Alaejemba among others
