Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has said it will soon began revocation of licence of Computer Based Tests centers extortion JAMB candidates in the country.

The Jigawa State Commandant, Alh Garba Muhammad made the warning during a courtesy visit to Jigawa State JAMB office in Dutse, the state capital.

He said some Computer Based Test Centers and e-pin outlets were in the habit of charging JAMB examination fees above Government stipulated rate.

He explained that Commandant General of the Corps, Alh Abdullahi Gana Mohammad gave directives to end what he described as extortion of JAMB candidates by CBT Operators.

He advised the Operators to charge only the official fees or risk revocation of their licences and possible prosecution.

JAMB Jigawa State Coordinator, Alh Bello H. Aminu expressed readiness to synergize with the Commandant towards facilitating Government’s policies and programs.

He explained that the total official cost of JAMB registration is N4,700 per candidate, adding that any center charging above violates the law and will be charged for extortion.

He urged JAMB candidates to report any computer based center charging above the Government approved fee.

This is coming after the Federal Government slashed the cost of JAMB registration to ease the burden on parents and the candidates.
