High Chief Obiora Okonkwo, PhD, a Governorship Aspirant for the 2021 Anambra Governorship election has congratulated Senator Hope Uzodimma on his recent Supreme Court victory.
Dr Okonkwo made this statement while paying a solidarity visit to the Imo State Governor in Owerri on Tuesday.
While congratulating Senator Uzodimma, Dr Okonkwo who has been an ally to the newly sworn in Governor stated that the judgment of the Supreme Court was legally correct even though it was against his party, the PDP.
He urged the Governor to use the mandate of the people to improve the lives of Imolites.
Speaking further, Dr Okonkwo advised the People’s Democratic Party to accept the judgment as the will of God. He stated his readiness to work with the Governor of Imo State, a state he considers an important ally to Anambra State when he is elected in 2021.
Recall that on January 14, 2020, a 7 man panel of the Supreme Court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed declared Senator Hope Uzodimma of APC winner of the March 2019 Governorship election, nullifying the election of Hon Emeka Ihedioha.
