The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command, has arrested four individuals for vandalizing streetlight poles in Abuja. Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the FCT Commandant of NSCDC, stated that the arrests followed increased night patrols initiated in response to intelligence reports indicating that vandals were targeting streetlight poles under the cover of darkness and heavy rain. The suspects, who were paraded at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Baja, were found with stolen traffic light poles, including one medium-sized and two large poles. Odumosu explained that the arrests occurred at different locations during late-night operations. He reassured FCT residents and Minister Ezenwo Wike of the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding national assets and emphasized that the FCT is off-limits to vandals and other criminals. The commandant also warned perpetrators to desist from their actions or face the full consequences of the law.
