As part of standards to upscale crucial enrollment in the State, the National Population Commission has initiated the digitization of all the registration centres.

The Anambra State Federal Commissioner at the commission Sir Chidi Ezeoke stated this during the official inauguration of the training of registrars and Deputy Chief Registrars at the Jerome Udoji State Secretariat complex in Awka.

The Vital registration includes: registration of births, deaths, marriages, migration.

These vital registrations are crucial in providing statistical data needed in planning and attainment of development goals with the potential to improve the well-being of the people.

The Federal Commissioner represented by a Director in the commission, Dr Joachim Ulasi expressed worry over the low trace of vital registration in the country due to the analog form of registration which has weakened the structures of the vital registration system in the country.
